Case Study Verification Register
The long operating-model document contains examples that should be verified before public use.
Use the same entity/asset split everywhere:
| Case study | Entity name | Asset / venue | Current claim type | Status | Action |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Plunkett UK community businesses | Plunkett Foundation / UK community business network | UK community pubs, shops, and local businesses | High survival rates, community pub support | Strong source exists, UK-specific | Use with careful geographic caveat |
| Hebden Bridge Trades Club | Hebden Bridge Trades Club | Live music venue / bar | Member-owned live music venue/bar | Likely usable with updated current data | Verify from official club sources |
| The Old Crown Birmingham | The Old Crown, Birmingham | Pub / heritage venue | Community-owned pub, raised specific amount | Unverified in first pass | Remove until proven |
| Mondragon Corporation | Mondragon Corporation | Multi-sector co-operative federation | Large co-operative federation | Real but not closely analogous to Tasmanian pub | Use only as broad co-op inspiration, not direct precedent |
| Endenburg Elektrotechniek / sociocracy | Endenburg Elektrotechniek | Governance method / company context | Governance example | Requires source verification | Verify before publication |
| Earthworker Co-operative | Earthworker Co-operative | Solar / heat-pump manufacturing co-op | Australian co-op example | Potentially useful, not hospitality-specific | Verify governance details |
| Enspiral | Enspiral | Distributed network / collaborative platform | Consent/distributed governance network | Useful but not co-op pub analogue | Use sparingly |
| Better World Arts | Better World Arts | Cross-cultural art co-op | Indigenous art co-op | Verify before use | Use only if accurate and respectful |
Rule for public copy
Only include case studies that satisfy all three:
- Source verified.
- Analogy explained honestly.
- No unsupported numbers.
Triage checklist
Use this as the working queue before any case study is mentioned in a briefing, transcript cleanup, or public-facing register.
| Bucket | Cases | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Needs research now | Castlemaine Community Investment Co-operative / The Hub; Hebden Bridge Trades Club | Castlemaine still has an unresolved transcript-vs-primary-source gap if we want to cite it precisely; Hebden Bridge needs current official-source confirmation before use as a live precedent |
| Research only if cited publicly | Endenburg Elektrotechniek / sociocracy; Earthworker Co-operative; Enspiral; Better World Arts | These are fine as broad inspiration, but they need source cleanup if we want to name them in public-facing prose or use them as structured analogues |
| Done for current purposes | The Old Crown Birmingham; Sea Lake; Lockington; Grong Grong; Nandaly; Broomehill; Hotel Theodore; Hotel Renmark; George & Dragon; Hesket Newmarket | The Birmingham Old Crown is debunked; the Australian and UK precedent set is already usable in the current register and briefings |
