Privacy notice
How information submitted through this website is handled — collected during the Bottom Pub campaign (concluded 13 August 2026) and maintained now as a civic record. This is a plain-language summary; it is not a legal opinion.
Last updated: 2 September 2026
What this site collects
Only the contact form remains open, for corrections and questions about the archive. The other five forms are closed but are listed because their records are still held:
- The Expression of Interest (EOI) form formerly at /express-interest/ (closed 2 September 2026) — name (optional), contact details, an interest-level radio, optional skills, availability, and consent checkboxes.
- The Contact form at /contact (open) — name, email, enquiry type, and free-text message.
- The Community survey formerly at /community-survey (closed 2 September 2026) — optional name and email plus survey responses and age group.
- The Bottom Pub Pledge and Financial survey (formerly at /pledge/ and /financial-survey) — contact details, funding preferences, meeting preferences, and open-text comments. These forms closed on 18 August 2026 after the campaign concluded; the endpoints now refuse submissions. Existing records are retained as described below.
- The Mailing list signup formerly on /co-op/ (closed 2 September 2026) — email address, optional name, and consent to receive updates.
The site also uses Google Analytics on public pages to count visits in aggregate. Cloudflare may log standard request metadata (IP, user agent, request path) for operational and security purposes.
Why we collect it
We collect information to:
- Communicate with you about the Bottom Pub archive and the civic record, including replying to corrections you send.
- Route contact enquiries to the site maintainer with automated triage.
- Track open enquiries so nothing falls through the cracks.
- Preserve closed survey and intake records as part of the civic record and findings analysis.
Third parties involved
When you submit a form, your information passes through the following services:
- Cloudflare — hosts the site, stores submissions in Cloudflare D1, and delivers site email through Cloudflare Email Workers.
- Anthropic (Claude) — contact-form messages are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API for automated triage (classifying the enquiry type and drafting a suggested reply). EOI, survey, and mailing-list submissions are not sent to Anthropic.
- GitHub Issues — contact-form enquiries are logged as issues in the project’s GitHub repository (currently
adrianwedd/bottom.pub) so the maintainer can track and respond to them. The issue body includes the message you sent. - Google Analytics — page-view analytics on public pages, in aggregate. We do not pass form submissions to Google Analytics.
We do not sell, rent, or share contact details with marketing partners or any third party outside the operational chain above.
The pub’s incoming owners
The archive publishes what Cygnet said it wants from the Bottom Pub to the property’s incoming owners, should they find it useful. If that happens, it will be limited to aggregated, de-identified themes drawn from the community survey. Names, contact details, free-text responses, and any individual record will not be provided to them without your separate, explicit consent. The identity of the buyer is not published here; nothing has been transferred as at the date above.
How long we keep it
EOI, contact-form, community-survey, financial-survey, pledge, and mailing-list submissions are kept as part of the civic archive, unless you ask us to remove your data sooner. They will not be transferred to another organisation without explicit consent.
Your choices
- You can ask us to remove your data at any time through the contact form. We will action removal requests within a reasonable period.
- You can ask us what data we hold about you through the same form.
- You can withdraw consent for further contact at any time. Withdrawing consent does not remove records of past interactions if those records are needed for archival integrity.
Security
The site enforces a strict Content Security Policy and HTTPS everywhere. The admin and members areas are protected by Cloudflare Access. None of this is a substitute for caution: please do not include sensitive personal information (medical, financial, identifying third parties) in form submissions.
Legal framing
A co-operative formation meeting was scheduled for 23 August 2026, but this archive does not record an outcome and makes no claim that a co-operative or board resulted. This privacy notice describes how the site’s data is handled as a civic archive. It is not a legal advice document.
Contact about privacy
For privacy questions, removal requests, or access requests, use the contact form with enquiry type “Something else entirely” and the word privacy in your message. We will respond.
